WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT OUR AGENDA TONIGHT.

AND ACTUALLY, UH, EQUALLY EXCITED, UH, TO HAVE YOU HERE FOR THIS FIRST ITEM.
OCTOBER IS NATIONAL COMMUNITY PLANNING MONTH.
UH, EACH, UH, OCTOBER, WE, UH, HONOR PLANNERS WHO, UH, WORK, UH, DAY IN AND DAY OUT, UH, TO IMPROVE THE WELLBEING OF, UH, THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN OUR COMMUNITY, ALL OF OUR STAKEHOLDERS, UH, BY LEVERAGING, UH, THEIR PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE, THEIR DATA-DRIVEN INSIGHTS AND LONG-TERM COMPREHENSIVE, UH, VISION AND PLANNING, UH, FOR OUR COMMUNITY.
AND, UH, IT'S JUST SUCH A COINCIDENCE THAT HERE WE ARE AFTER TWO, UH, LONG YEARS OF, UH, ENVISION RICHARDSON THAT WE'RE ABLE TO, UH, ACCOMPLISH BOTH OF THESE, UH, THESE IMPORTANT, UM, ITEMS. TONIGHT, I DO WANNA RECOGNIZE, AND WE'LL HAVE THEM COME UP SHORTLY TO TAKE A, UH, A PHOTO WITH THE CITY COUNCIL.
UH, A NUMBER OF OUR PLANT PLANNERS THAT WE HAVE HERE.
UM, WE HAVE PLANNERS IN OUR TRANSPORTATION DIVISION.
WE HAVE PLANNERS IN OUR, UH, DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AND OUR ENGINEERING.

UH, PLANNERS REALLY TOUCH EVERY FACET OF WHAT WE DO.
UH, WE LIKE TO SAY WE, WE PLAN OUR WORK AND WORK OUR PLAN IN RICHARDSON, AND THESE PROFESSIONALS ARE ON THE, ON THE FOREFRONT IN THE FRONT LINES OF DOING EXACTLY THAT.

EACH SUMMIT WAS STRUCTURED WITH MULTIPLE, UH, ACTIVITIES, UH, METHODS FOR ENGAGEMENTS, OPPORTUNITIES FOR FOLKS TO BECOME INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS.
UH, AND AND THROUGH THAT PROCESS, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 7,350, UH, OR 40 INDIVIDUAL INTERACTIONS WITH RICHARDSON STAKEHOLDERS.
AGAIN, IT INCLUDED AN ONLINE PRESENCE FOR THOSE PEOPLE THAT PREFERRED TO, TO PROVIDE THEIR FEEDBACK ONLINE RATHER THAN GOING TO FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS, TARGETED PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT, UH, WHICH WAS, UH, INTERVIEWS AND THOSE TYPES OF THINGS.
UH, AND ALSO MEETING WITH, UH, HOA PRESIDENTS, UH, WHERE WE HAD TARGETED GROUPS THAT WE WERE GOING TO.

UH, I, I, I LIKE THE WAY YOU'VE SET IT UP HERE IN A PRINTED FORMAT WITH THE, UM, UH, THE TEXT, DIFFERENT CHAPTERS COLORING.

UM, COUNCILMAN, UH, SHAEL, I THINK IF WE THINK BACK, I THINK TO OUR VERY FIRST, UM, MEETING, TALKING ABOUT THIS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHERE WE GOT OUR FIRST ROUND OF COMMUNITY FEEDBACK AND WE HAD THAT LOVELY WORD CLOUD.
I THINK THE BIGGEST WORD IN THERE WAS SUSTAINABILITY.
SO THAT'S NOT SOMETHING THAT'S BEING DRIVEN BY THE COUNCIL.
IT REALLY IS, AGAIN, BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, SOMETHING THAT WAS DRIVEN BY THE COMMUNITY AND WAS REALLY IMPORTANT TO THEM.
AND SO WE HAD TO TAKE THAT AND SAY, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? IS THAT ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY? IS THAT FISCAL SUSTAINABILITY? IS THAT, YOU KNOW, WHATEVER, THERE'S SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS THAT THAT WORD CAN BE USED.
