UH, SO THE FIRST THING WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT IS, UH, THE SIDEWALK GAP, UH, ANALYSIS. IT'S ITEM FOUR ON OUR, ON THE PRESENTATION. AND MICHAEL, WE'LL, UH, TALK TO THAT. SO THIS IS BASED ON A PROCESS WE FIRST PRESENTED BACK IN SEPTEMBER. UH, THAT WAS JUST INTO THE ACTUAL PRIOR PRESENTATION. BUT JUST TO GIVE EVERYONE A LITTLE BACKGROUND AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE'S REFRESHED ON WHAT THIS PROJECT WAS, WE'LL JUST GO OVER, UH, SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION. THIS PROJECT WAS AN ACTION ITEM OUT OF THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN, WHICH WAS LOOKING AT RECOMMENDING THE ELIMINATION OF PEDESTRIAN NETWORKING GAPS. UH, THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO ANALYZE THE SIDEWALK NETWORK TO IDENTIFY AND PRIORITIZE ANY GAPS THAT WE MAY CURRENTLY HAVE. WE DID THIS BY FIRST UPDATING THE EXISTING GS SIDEWALK LAYER, UH, USING THE 2 25, UH, AERIAL IMAGERY, WHICH HELPED US TO IDENTIFY ANY GAPS ALONG PUBLIC ROADS. AND THEN THE SECOND HALF WOULD TO DEVELOP A PRIORITIZATION CRITERIA FOR EXISTING GAS. UH, JUST GOING ON TO THE FIRST PART ABOUT THE SIDEWALK INVENTORY, THERE IS APPROXIMATELY 775 MILES OF PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES IN RICHARDSON TODAY. UH, IMPROVED THE CENTERLINE MILES, THAT IS 387.6 IN THE PURPLE, UH, JUST AROUND THE RED BOX IN THE TOTAL HUNDRED 25.2. CURRENTLY WE HAVE 98% OF SINGLE FAMILY PARCELS ARE WITHIN 200 FEET OF AN EXISTING SIDEWALK. AND WE HAVE 37.6 MILES OF GAPS, WHICH MAKE UP ABOUT 8% OF OUR CURRENT NETWORK. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE A BREAKDOWN BY, UH, ROADWAY CLASSIFICATION. UH, IF YOU'LL NOTICE, THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE WE HAVE GAPS ON IS OUR FRONTAGE ROADS, BUT WE'LL TALK ABOUT A LITTLE WHY, UH, ABOUT HOW WE PRIORITIZE THAT A LITTLE BIT LATER. UH, SO WE'VE REVISED OUR PRIORITIZATION CRITERIA BACK IN SEPTEMBER WHEN WE FIRST BROUGHT THIS BEFORE YOU GUYS, IT WAS JUST TO, UH, GET FEEDBACK AND WHAT YOU GUYS WANTED TO SEE. AND BASED ON THAT, WE DID SOME, UH, REVISING SAFETY DID NOT CHANGE MUCH, BUT THIS IS LOOKING AT AREAS WITH A HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF ROADWAY FATALITIES OR SEVERE CRASHES IN TERMS OF VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS, AS WE CONSIDER THOSE HIGHER RISKS. AND IT'S USING THE HIGH INJURY NETWORK, UH, FROM OUR SAFER RICHARDSON PROJECT. WE'RE JUST LOOKING AT EITHER ONES THAT ARE ON OR NEXT TO, WE LOOK AT THE ROADWAY CLASSIFICATION TYPE, WHICH IS PRIORITIZING GAPS ON HIGHER SPEED AND VOLUME ROADWAYS. SO LOOKING TO AVOID OR, UH, PRIORITIZING ARTERIALS COLLECTORS AND NOT SO MUCH RESIDENTIAL STREETS AS THEY'RE LOWER SPEED AND WITH LESS TRAFFIC JUST TO KEEP PEDESTRIANS OFF WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UH, AND TO GIVE THEM A SAFE AREA. WE ADDED A NEW ONE, WHICH WAS THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION NETWORK, TO LOOK AT GAPS WHICH ARE LOCATED ON THE ESSENTIAL ACTIVE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION NETWORK IDENTIFIED IN THE A TP, JUST TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE AN ACCESSIBLE, UH, NETWORK FOR PEOPLE TO WALK ON, AND THAT THEY WON'T BE STOPPED WHILE THEY'RE TRYING TO TRAVEL. DEVELOPMENT STATUS WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT DID NOT CHANGE, BUT JUST AS A TYPICAL REVIEW OF SLIP AND AT DEVELOPMENT CONTEXT IN THE AREA. UH, SO WE GAVE THE HIGHEST POINTS TO DEVELOP PARCELS JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE ALREADY BUILT OUT. SO WE WOULDN'T EXPECT THE SIDEWALK TO MAGICALLY APPEAR FROM THAT. [00:05:01] UH, MAJOR HIGHWAYS GOT A LITTLE, WAS A LITTLE LESS PRIORITIZED 'CAUSE IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT MORE COORDINATION AND POSITION, UH, SCENARIOS FOR US TO GET FUNDING TO WORK WITH TDO TO, UH, BUILD OUT THOSE SIDEWALKS. AND THEN WE ALSO LOOKED AT UNDEVELOPED PARCELS. ONES WITHOUT IMPROVED PLAN. WERE SCORED A LITTLE BIT HIGHER, BUT ONES WITH WERE, WERE THE LOWEST JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE EXPECTED, UH, DEVELOPMENT FOR EXPECTED TO BUILD THEIR SIDEWALK AS THEY COME IN. AND THEN LASTLY, KEY DESTINATION. WE'RE LOOKING AT TRIP GENERATING, JUST DESTINATIONS, LOOKING AT SCHOOLS, TRANSIT STOPS, PARKS, REC CENTERS IN OTHER AREAS WHERE WE JUST EXPECT TO SEE MORE PEDESTRIANS AND, 'CAUSE WE HAD SO MANY DESTINATIONS, WE HAD TO UP THE ORIGINAL CATEGORIES. UH, SO THAT WOULD ALL BE CATEGORIZED TOGETHER AND WE COULD GET A LITTLE BIT MORE, UH, SEE WHICH ONES WOULD BE HIGHER PRIORITY, WHICH ALL OF THESE HELPED US CREATE OUR ARE . AND IF YOU LOOK AT IT, WE LABELED THEM AS HIGH, MEDIUM, AND LOW. AND ON SOME OF THEM YOU'LL NOTICE SOME, UH, OUTLINES OF BLACK, WHICH ARE, ARE CURRENTLY FUNDED GAPS THAT ARE ALREADY THERE. AND THEN YOU'LL ALSO NOTICE SOME LIGHT BLUE ONES, WHICH ARE KNOWN AS KNOWN GAPS. AND THESE ARE GAPS THAT WE'VE REMOVED, UH, DUE TO THE LACK OF ACCESS EITHER TO, UH, TOPOGRAPHY OR THE EXISTING DEVELOPMENT CONDITIONS. AS WELL AS THEY HAD A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE ROUTE THAT WE SUGGEST PEDESTRIANS ALREADY USED. LIKE ONE OF THE EXAMPLES WAS ON PARK BEND, PARK BEND DRIVE, WHICH IS RIGHT NEXT TO RICHLAND ELEMENTARY. UH, ON THE SOUTH SIDE, YOU SEE A SIDEWALK THAT GOES ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE WHOLE STREET. UH, BUT ON THE NORTH SIDE THERE IS A BRICK WALL WITH NO SIDEWALK. UH, BUT THERE'S NO CONNECTION POINT UP THERE OR ANYTHING FOR THE SIDEWALK THERE REALLY . AND SO WE FELT LIKE IT WASN'T A GOOD USE OF RESOURCES TO PRIORITIZE THIS TYPE OF SIDEWALK. GOING INTO, INTO THE FUNDING OF, UH, WHAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE FUNDED, WHICH IS WHAT WE DON'T, THERE EITHER 4.1 MILES MADE UP, CENTRAL TRAIL COTTON TRAIL ON SYNERGY, AS WELL AS OTHER PRIVATE DEVELOPMENTS THAT ARE ALREADY BUILDING. UH, 50% OF THE CURRENTLY FUNDED IMPROVEMENTS IS LABELED AS HIGH PRIORITY AND 4.9 MILES, UH, EQUATES TO THE 15 15% OF OUR ENTIRE, UH, OF THE IDENTIFIED GAPS ALREADY FUNDED, UH, THESE GAPS. WE ALSO DID, UH, AS PART OF THIS, WE ALSO EXCLUDED FUNDING, AVAILABILITY, AND FEASIBILITY FROM THE PRIORITIZATION. THIS IS EACH, UH, SIDEWALK WILL BE EVALUATED ON A, UH, CASE BY CASE BASIS, JUST AS FUNDING BECOMES AVAILABLE, AS WELL AS WHAT THE ACTUAL COST WOULD BE TO BUILD THAT TYPE OF GAP. SO WE MIGHT SEE THAT MEDIUM AND LOW PRIORITIES GET FUNDED FIRST JUST BECAUSE THEIR FUNDING BECOMES AVAILABLE OVER HIGH AS WE'RE JUST WAITING ON FUNDING. WHAT DOES IT COST TO BUILD 4.9 MILES SIDE? UH, IT VARIES CONSIDERABLY. SO YEAH, IT'S GONNA VARY A LOT. 'CAUSE OF THAT 4.9, YOU'VE GOT MAYBE ONE AND A HALF MILES OF THAT IS ACTUALLY CENTRAL TRAIL. THAT CENTRAL TRAIL EXTENSION IS A SIDEWALK GAP CURRENTLY ALONG KIND OF RESTING AROUND THE WESTLAND CEMETERY THERE. UM, SO IT IS, YOU KNOW, IF YOU'RE TALKING ROUGHLY $50 A FOOT OR JUST TYPICAL SIDEWALK, UM, WITH, YOU KNOW, KIND OF IDEAL CONDITIONS, UM, BUT SOMETHING LIKE CENTRAL TRAIL THAT THINKING PER MILE AND A HALF, THAT'S A, UH, KIND OF $7 MILLION PROJECT. SO THERE'S A LOT OF VARIABLES. YOU KNOW, ONE LIKE THAT, YOU'VE GOT THAT PROJECT IS CROSSING THE DART RAIL TRACKS. SO, YOU KNOW, YOU'RE ADDING A LOT THERE. YOU'VE GOT SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH IT. UM, AND SO THERE'S A LOT OF VARIANCE. ONE OF 'EM IS, YOU KNOW, SOME OF THE HIGH PRIORITIES, ESPECIALLY ALONG SOME OF THE FRONTAGE ROAD. UM, YOU KNOW, THINKING YOU, LIKE PALISADES ARE TO BUILD IT, YOU'RE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT A BRIDGE. SO YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT HOW DO WE CROSS THE CREEK. UM, AND SO THERE'S SOME OF THOSE THAT LIKE, HEY, IT'S A HIGH PRIORITY, BUT THAT'S ALSO, IT'S EXPENSIVE. THAT'S GONNA BE EXPENSIVE AND HARD TO BUILD. UM, AND THAT'S WHY MICHAEL WAS ALLUDING TO JUST, YEAH, SOME OF THOSE MEDIUM AND LOW, MAYBE FROM THE COST BENEFIT PERSPECTIVE, MAY GET BUILT BEFORE JUST 'CAUSE THAT OPPORTUNITY'S THERE. UM, VERSUS SOME OF THOSE HIGH PRIORITY OR, YOU KNOW, YEAH, WE WANT TO BUILD 'EM, THEY MAKE SOME GREAT CONNECTIONS. UM, BUT THEY MAY IT BE A LONGER LEAD TIME, UM, AS WE KIND OF STRATEGIZE HOW TO, UH, GET TOWARDS FUNDING SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I NOTICED THAT ONE OF YOUR HIGH PRIORITIES WAS, LOOKED LIKE IT WAS THE COLLINS BRIDGE, AND YOU'VE GOT THE BLACK LINE AROUND THAT. OKAY. YEAH. SO THAT ONE'S UNDER DESIGN. MICHAEL, LET YOU, [00:10:01] UH, JUST A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT WE CORRECTLY FUNDED WITH. AS I SAID, 50% OF HIGH 28 OR 22% OF MEDIUM, WHICH EQUATES TO 1.4 MILES AND 1.4 OF LOW IS 28% OF FUNDED. AND WHAT REMAINS UNFUNDED IS ONLY 26% OF THE MILEAGE IS CONSIDERED HIGH. WHAT AT 7.7 MILES, 32% OR 9.4 MILES IS MEDIUM. IN 42% OF 12.2 OF IT IS CONSIDERED LOW PRIORITY. UH, AS PART OF THIS, WE'RE, WE'RE ALSO DEVELOPING A WEBPAGE. IT'S CURRENT DEVELOPMENT. UM, WE HAVE FUNDING THROUGH THE US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION THROUGH ONE OF THEIR STATE STREETS AND . UM, AND THIS WAS ANOTHER ACTION OUT OF THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN, UM, AS WELL AS A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE BIKE LEAGUE THROUGH OUR BIKE LEAGUE, UH, COMMUNITY APPLICATION, UH, WAS REALLY ADVANCING THIS. UM, AND IT IT REALLY KIND OF FEATHERS IN, UH, A LOT TO WHETHER IT'S FEDERAL, STATE, REGIONAL GOALS, UM, UM, KIND OF FROM A FEDERAL AND STATE AND REGIONAL LEVEL. THERE'S ALL, UH, ALL OF THOSE HAVE SOME KIND OF SAFETY GOALS, UM, THAT THEY'VE BEEN PUTTING IN PLACE. UM, MOVING TOWARDS THIS VISION ZERO BEING A, HOW DO WE ELIMINATE KIND OF FATAL SERIOUS INJURY CRASHES, UM, AS THAT KIND OF ASPIRATIONAL GOAL OF, OF MOVING TOWARDS THAT. UM, SEVERAL OTHER COMMUNITIES IN THE REGION ARE ALSO WORKING ON, UM, CLAIMS LIKE THIS. YOU MAY MAY SEE THAT AROUND AS WELL. UM, BUT IT IS ONE JUST KIND OF SAYING, YOU KNOW, DALLAS, ARLINGTON FORT WORTH ARE REALLY THE ONLY ONES IN OUR REGION THAT HAVE ADOPTED RIGHT NOW. UM, BUT THERE'S SEVERAL INCLUDING RICHARDSON THAT ARE WORKING ON THEM. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE SEVERAL HAVE, UH, FUNDING AWARDED NOW THAT WILL BE COMING ON. SO WE'RE, UM, NOT THE FIRST ONES TO ADOPT SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT, UM, UM, ONE OF THE, ONE OF THE FIRST IN THE REGION. UM, AS FAR AS THE PLANNING PROCESS, A LOT, WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON KIND OF THIS AT THE TOP, A LOT OF VISIONING CONDITIONS, A LOT OF THAT KIND OF PLAYS INTO IT. UM, AND WE'RE STARTING IN THE PLAN TO KIND OF GET ON THAT TAIL END OF, YOU KNOW, WE'VE DONE A LOT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THROUGH THE FALL, KIND OF SUMMER, THE FALL OF LAST YEAR, AND MOVING INTO, UM, KIND OF GETTING SOME RECOMMENDATIONS OUT THIS PLAN. SO I REALLY WANTED TO BRING, UM, THIS KIND OF PLANNING INPUT INFORMATION TO, UM, IN, IN FRONT OF Y'ALL THE COMMITTEE, UM, UH, TO KIND OF WALK THROUGH, YOU KNOW, THE VISION STATEMENT, THE KIND OF THE, SOME OF THE SAFETY ANALYSIS, I THINK WE TALKED THAT BEFORE. UM, AND THEN ALSO WHAT WE HEARD THROUGH THE ENGAGEMENT COLLABORATION, UM, WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND THE PUBLIC. YEAH, NO FATALITIES, BUT THERE WERE 22 INJURY CRASHES WITH PEDESTRIANS AND 14 WITH BICYCLISTS, BUT SIGNIFICANT DROP IN FATALITIES THIS YEAR. THAT'S GREAT. I HEARD, I THINK I READ THAT DALLAS HAD HALF, UH, IN 25 THAT THEY DID IN 24, QUITE FRANKLY SURPRISES ME WITH ALL THE CONSTRUCTION WE HAD ON CENTRAL AND EVERYTHING ELSE. YEAH. SO GOING INTO THE KIND OF, UH, THE, THE ITEMS, KIND OF THAT PLANNING INPUT WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW. SO THIS IS THE RECOMMENDED DIRECT VISION STATEMENT RIGHT NOW. SO IT'S RICHARD IN VISIONS, A SAFE, ACCESSIBLE AND EFFICIENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK TO MEET THE MOBILITY NEEDS OF THE CITY'S DIVERSE RESIDENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS. SAFER STREET SEARCH IS AND BUILDS OFF THE CITY'S EXISTING COMMITMENT TO SAFETY BY SETTING THE GOAL TO REDUCE DEATH IN SERIOUS INJURIES ON RICHARDSON STREETS BY 50%, BY 2050. UM, AND THEN, UM, A LOT OF THAT, UM, PROCESS, UH, WITHIN IT, UM, TIED TO THAT IS ALSO THE INSTITUTIONALIZING SAFETY AND DECISION MAKING. SO HOW DO WE CREATE POLICIES, PLANS, YOU KNOW, HOW DO WE CREATE STANDARDS IN THE CITY, UM, AND KEEP THOSE UPDATED, UM, BEST PRACTICES THAT WE CAN CLEARLY, CONSISTENTLY, UM, BE APPLYING THOSE IN ALL OF OUR PROJECTS, UM, TO BE MOVING TOWARDS SAFETY. UM, AND THEN, UM, ALWAYS WITH ANYTHING LIKE THIS, KIND OF THAT ENGINEERING ELEMENT OF HOW WE'VE BUILT SAFER STREETS, UM, HOW WE'RE FUNDING AND MOVING TOWARDS THAT, UH, TO, UH, LOOKING AT ALL ROADWAY MUSIC, AGAIN, TIES BACK TO THAT COMPLETE STREETS POLICY. AND, YOU KNOW, A LOT OF THE WORK WE DO HERE WITH THE BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE, UH, AND THEN, UH, KIND OF FINALLY NUMBER FOUR THERE, BEING COLLABORATE WITH PARTNERS, PROMOTE SAFETY ON OUR STREETS. UH, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THE CITY IN AND OF ITSELF CAN ACCOMPLISH. AND SO HOW DO WE WORK WITH OUR PARTNERS? SOMETIMES IT'S OUR FUNDING PARTNERS. UM, SOMETIMES THINGS LIKE, UH, WORKING WITH TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OR OTHER AGENCIES THAT ARE WORKING IN OUR COMMUNITY, LIKE, UH, DART WALKED IN. AND SO, UH, WORKING WITH THOSE AS WELL, UM, INCLUDING OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. UH, YOU KNOW, SOME, SOMETIMES THE CRASH IS GONNA OCCUR, BUT IT IS HOW DO WE REDUCE THE SEVERITY OF IT? UM, AND SOME OF IT, YOU KNOW, HOW DO WE RESPOND TO THOSE EMERGENCIES, GET THEM TO THE HOSPITAL FASTER, WHATEVER. UM, CARE WHERE I KNOW RICHARDSON, UM, HAS GREAT HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AND HAVING PROXIMITY TO A, UH, MAJOR MEDICAL FACILITY, UM, HELP TO SAVE LIVES AND KIND OF REDUCE THE SEVERITY OF CRASHES. SO THOSE ARE KIND OF THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES, SUPPORTING THAT VISION. UM, AND KIND OF UNDER THESE GUIDING PRINCIPLES, WE'LL START DEVELOPING THOSE STRATEGIES AND KIND OF ACTION ITEMS, UM, UM, TO IMPLEMENT THE PLAN. FROM THE SAFETY ANALYSIS SIDE, I THINK YOU'VE SEEN THE MAP BEFORE, BUT THESE, THIS IS A HIGH ENTRY NETWORK. THIS WAS SPLIT INTO THE, THE ALL MODES HOW NETWORK. SO WHERE WE LOOKED AT FATAL AND SERIOUS CRASHES, AIR IN BLUE OF, UH, ALL MODES, AND THEN IN ORANGE IT BE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ONLY. UM, THIS IS ONE, I THINK IT CAME UP THE LAST CONVERSATION IS, UM, JUST BECAUSE OUR LIMITED KIND OF SAMPLE SIZE, UM, IN RICHARDSON BICYCLE, BUT AS PEDESTRIANS HAVE TO BE KIND OF LUMPED INTO ONE, LIKE THE MOVEMENT OF EACH OF THOSE IS DIFFERENT. UH, WE DID DO SOME OTHER OUTREACH EVENTS, AND SO WE HAD THE COMMUNITY MEETING ON AUGUST 26TH, AND THAT WAS THE ONE THAT WAS TIED TO THE A DA TRANSITION PLAN. UH, WE WERE AT THE PUBLIC SAFETY EXPO OUT AT INE PARK IN SEPTEMBER, AND THEN WE'RE ALSO AT CULTURE IN THE CORE IN NOVEMBER. UM, I KNOW SOME OF THESE OVERLAPPED WITH THE SURVEY WHERE WE WERE PROMOTING THE SURVEY. UH, WE HAD IPADS OUT THERE TO HELP PEOPLE TAKE SURVEYS OUT THERE IF THEY WANTED TO. UM, I KNOW CULTURE IN THE CORE WAS AFTER THE SURVEY CLOSED, SO THAT ONE, WE WERE MORE TALKING A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY, THE VISION, UM, KIND OF INFORMING PEOPLE ABOUT THE PLAN. UH, WE ALSO TALKED, UM, UH, WE'RE AT THE BIKE RODEO COURSE, UM, WITH THE RICHARDSON CARE PROGRAM THAT GOES THROUGH. UH, WE, WE ALSO DISCUSSED THE PLAN AND, UH, PROMOTED THE SURVEY THROUGH THAT. UH, AND THEN THERE'S PLANS ALSO AT A EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER, UH, GROUP. UH, SO UT DALLAS, UH, BOTH OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS HAVE BEEN REPRESENTED, UH, DART, UH, METHODIST, UH, RICHARDSON, AND THEN, UH, NETWORK COMMUNITY MINISTRIES. UH, WE HAVE A COUPLE OTHER PARTNERS LIKE DALLAS COUNTY ON THERE AS WELL. UM, BUT A LOT OF DIFFERENT, UH, KIND OF AGENCY PARTNERS, UM, THROUGH THAT STAKEHOLDER GROUP. UM, AND THEN KINDA IN PERSON, UM, WE WERE ALSO PROMOTING IT AT THE ACTIVE AND SENIOR LIVING FACILITIES. UH, WE DID THE YMCA AS WELL AS THE RECREATION CENTERS. UM, AND SOME OF THAT WAS, WAS KIND OF A DUAL PURPOSE, 'CAUSE IT WAS THIS PLAN AS WELL AS THE A EIGHT TRANSITION PLAN. UH, THIS IS WHY KIND OF WITHIN THAT OUTREACH THERE WAS A FOCUS ON THE ACTIVE AND PEOPLE LIVING FACILITIES, SOME OF THE RESULTS OUT OF THE SURVEY. UH, SO, YOU KNOW, ONE IS WHAT WOULD ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO PRIORITIZE SAFETY. UM, KIND OF THE, THE TOP TWO THAT CAME, UH, THROUGH THE SURVEY WAS STRONG ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC LAWS AND THEN SLOWING SPEED AND ROAD DESIGN CHANGES IN STUDENT LIMIT SETTING. UM, AS FAR AS KIND OF WALKING AND BIKING, YOU KNOW, A LOT OF PEOPLE FEEL SAFE WALKING DURING THE DAYTIME, EVEN AT NIGHTTIME. UM, YOU KNOW, YOU START GETTING KIND OF MIDDLING, YOU KNOW, 50% THERE OR 51%, UM, FEELING LIKE THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD IS A SAFE PLACE TO RIDE A BIKE. UM, AND YOU GET KINDA LOWER ON, UH, TRANSIT STOPS, UH, THAT ACCESSIBILITY TO BE ABLE TO WALK TO. AND THEN, YEAH, WHEN YOU START TALKING BUSY STREETS, WHETHER IT'S WALKING OR BIKING, UM, IT'S ONE OF THOSE THAT KIND OF MAKES SENSE, BUT IT IS, YOU START FEELING LESS SAFE ALONG THOSE, THOSE FACILITIES. THERE'S A SURVEY WE ALSO HAD OVER 600, UM, KIND OF PINS DROPPED OF DIFFERENT ISSUE AREAS. PEOPLE IDENTIFY. UM, A LOT OF THE THINGS THAT WE SAW, YOU KNOW, SPEEDING, RECKLESS DRIVING, UM, STOP SIGN, RED LIGHT VIOLATIONS, UH, TRAFFIC INGESTION, UH, AND SOME OF THE SIGNAL TIMING ISSUES, UH, AS WELL AS, UM, A LOT OF, UH, REQUESTS FOR DIFFERENT BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN INFRASTRUCTURE, UM, AND DIFFERENT CONNECTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN NEEDED, UM, AS WELL AS JUST OVERALL PEDESTRIAN CYCLIST SAFETY. UM, AND THEN SOMETIMES, UH, SOME OF THE ITEMS OR MAINTENANCE REPAIR, MAYBE IT'S SIDEWALKS, MAYBE IT'S, UH, ROADWAY CONDITIONS OF, OF NEEDING DIFFERENT REPAIRS, THOUGH, AS FAR AS LIKE STRATEGIES THAT FELT PEOPLE AGREED WITH, UM, UH, SOMETHING THAT THEY FELT WOULD MAKE SAFER, UH, TRAVELING WITHIN RICHARDSON, UM, YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE HIGHEST WAS INVESTING IN PEDESTRIAN SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE, UH, REDUCING SPEEDS ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS, UH, INVESTING IN BIKE SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE, AND THEN, UH, REDESIGNING MAJOR ROADS TO REDUCE SPEEDS AND SPEED LIMITS, UM, AND THEN FUNDING ENHANCED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT. UM, SO 14 TRAFFIC SIGNAL REBUILDS KIND OF SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. UH, THERE ARE TWO NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL REBUILDS, UM, ON THERE, ONE OUT IN THE BRECKENRIDGE AREA AT RENTER AND SHARP. UH, ANOTHER ONE THERE ON BELT LINE . UM, UH, THEY'RE IN KIND OF SOUTHWEST RICHARDSON. UH, SOME OTHER PROJECTS TO NOTE IS, UH, WE'LL BE LOOKING AT REPLACING ALL THE SCHOOL GOING FLASHERS IN THE COMMUNITY. UM, AND ONE OF THOSE IS LOOKING AT UPGRADING THOSE TO ALSO INCLUDE, UH, THE SPEED RADAR SIGNS. SO, YOU KNOW, WE'VE GOT THE KIND OF FEEDBACK SIGNS TO TELL YOU HOW FAST YOU'RE GOING. UM, THOSE WOULD GET PLACED ON KIND OF EVERY SCHOOL ZONES AS YOU ENTER, UH, TRYING TO AGAIN, REINFORCE THAT YOU'RE ENTERING THAT SCHOOL ZONE. YEAH, YOU NEED TO BE GOING 20 MILES AN HOUR, UM, UH, AND TRYING TO, TO GET, UH, BETTER COMPLIANCE THROUGH THAT. UH, THE OTHER ONE IS THROUGH OUR EVALUATION, YOU KNOW, SIGNAL REBUILDS. WE HAD ABOUT 33 INTERSECTIONS THAT ARE NOT UP TO A DA COMPLIANCE WITH, UH, PUSH BUTTONS AND SOME CURB RAMP ITEMS. UM, AND SO, UM, COUNCIL WAS INTERESTED IN, UM, FUNDING KIND OF THOSE, THOSE REMAINING, UH, JUST TO GET THOSE UP TO 80 A COMPLIANCE SO THAT THROUGHOUT OUR FULL TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEM, UH, WE WOULD HAVE KIND OF THE AUDIBLE PEDESTRIAN SYSTEM, UM, , ALL THOSE UPGRADED, UM, TO THE LATEST STANDARDS FOR KIND OF DIRECTLY TOWARDS ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION. THERE'S TWO ITEMS. UH, ONE IS THE OWEN TRAIL UPGRADES. SO OWENS TRAIL'S ONE OF THE OLDER, UH, KINDA ONE OF THE SI THINK EVEN FOR ENCORE, THAT WAS, I THINK, THEIR FIRST TRAIL IN AN ENCORE RIGHT OF WAY. UM, AND SO LOOKING AT, UH, AGAIN, TOWARDS A DA GETTING A LOT OF CURB RAMPS, UM, SOME OF THE ISSUES WE WE RUN INTO IS, YOU KNOW, YOU GET TO AN INTERSECTION ON THAT TRAIL, THE RAMPS ARE ACTUALLY NARROWER THAN THE TRAIL. UM, AND SO THAT KIND OF THROWS PEOPLE OFF. UM, AND SO GETTING THOSE TO, TO TRAIL WIDTH A DA COMPLIANCE, UM, AS WELL AS LOOKING AT ALL OF OUR CROSSINGS, UM, ALONG THAT TRAIL, MAKING SURE THEY'RE, UM, UH, CLIENT LOOKING AT MEDIAN CROSSING. ANOTHER ONE AS MUCH AS YOU THINK THE CROSSING AT ARAPAHOE AND YOU KEEP THE CROSSING AT COLLINS, IT'S A REALLY TIGHT MEDIAN, ESPECIALLY IF WE'RE ON A BIKE TRYING TO KEEP THAT P CROSSING. UM, AND SO THIS PROJECT DESIGNED THIS CROSSINGS AND THOSE, UH, KIND OF HOW WE SIGN AND MARK THOSE, UH, TO BE EASIER TO NAVIGATE FOR ALL, ALL USERS, UH, WHETHER YOU'RE WALKING OR BIKING. UH, THE OTHER IS STREET CROSSING UPGRADES, UM, THINKING SIMILAR KIND OF OWENS AND, UM, ARA. YEAH, ARAPAHOE ROAD AND OWENS TRAIL. UH, YOU KNOW, RIGHT NOW WE JUST HAVE A RFB, THE RECTANGULAR RAPID FLASHING BEACON, WHICH IS MORE LIKE A WARNING LINE. UM, AND SO WE'RE LOOKING AT THIS FREE CROSSING UPGRADES, LOOKING AT EXISTING CROSSINGS, UH, KIND OF THROUGHOUT OUR TRAIL SYSTEM, UM, AND HOW DO WE PRIORITIZE UPGRADE SOME OF THOSE THAT THEY'RE NOT JUST KIND OF A WARNING BEACON, BUT A FULL LIKE, KIND OF STOP FOR VEHICLES, UM, TO EN ENHANCE THE SAFETY FOR THE TRAIL USERS ACROSS THE STREET. UM, AND, AND MAKE THAT EASIER FROM OTHER AREAS. YOU KNOW, TRANSPORTATION, MOBILITY IS NOT THE ONLY AREA. YOU CAN HAVE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION ELEMENTS, UH, STREETS AND ALLEYS. YOU'RE GONNA SEE A LOT OF OVERLAP WITH ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN. UM, SO IT'S ACTUALLY EVERY COLLECTOR, UH, LISTED, UH, IS ACTUALLY ON THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN. SO YOU GOT WATERVIEW FROM ARAPAHOE TO CAMPBELL. [00:35:01] UH, THERE'S EXISTING BIKE LANES TODAY, UH, MELROSE FROM WISTERIA TO PROVINCETOWN, UH, WHICH IS, UM, A LITTLE BIT WEST OF CUSTER IS KIND OF, UM, KIND OF THE AREA YOU'RE LOOKING AT, UM, WITH THAT MELROSE SECTION. UM, AND THAT'S NOT A CURRENT FACILITY. UH, WE DO HAVE A LOT OF BICYCLE TRAFFIC BASED OFF OF OUR STRAVA, THE STRAVA DATA THAT WE HAVE ACCESS TO, UH, THAT THERE IS. MELROSE DOES HAVE A LOT OF, UM, BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ACTIVITY ON IT. UM, THAT'S ONE THAT ULTIMATELY WE'D BE LOOKING AT SOMETHING SIMILAR TO DUMONT, WHERE IT'S, UM, SOME KIND OF MORE ON ON STREET KIND OF NEIGHBORHOOD BYWAY BY BOULEVARD TYPE TYPE FACILITY. UM, BUT LOOKING AT MORE TRAFFIC CALMING ELEMENTS TO, TO MAKE IT A, UM, TO KIND OF SLOW SPEEDS A LITTLE BIT. THE OTHER ONE'S MIMOSA FROM MELROSE DOWN TO ARAPAHOE, UM, WEATHERED FROM DOWNING TO BELTLINE. AND THEN THERE'S A FEW, SO THOSE TOP FOUR ARE ALL FULL KIND OF RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. SO THOSE WOULD BE A LITTLE MORE INTENSIVE KIND. LIKE IF YOU SEE PARKWAY NORTH OF CAMPBELL RIGHT NOW, YOU KNOW, FULLY TORN UP, IT TAKES A WHILE, BUT YOU GET A GREAT PROJECT AT THE END. UM, AND SO THOSE ARE ALL GONNA HAVE SOME KIND OF ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. UM, KIND OF HOW THAT GETS IMPLEMENTED IS, UH, NOT FULLY DEFINED YET, UM, BUT IT WILL, THAT ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN WILL INFORM, UM, HOW THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECTS HAPPEN, UM, AND LOOKING AT IMPLEMENTING SOME KIND OF ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION FACILITY WITHIN THAT. UM, ANOTHER ONE IS THERE ARE SOME REHABILITATION, UH, PROJECTS, UH, LISTED WITHIN THAT PROGRAM. AND SO THAT'S MORE LIKE PANEL REPLACEMENT, BUT LIKE, YEAH, IT'S A REPAIR, YOU'RE NOT GONNA FULLY REBUILD THE ROAD, BUT YOU'LL GET SOME REPAIRS OUT OF IT. UM, AND SO THERE'S GONNA BE A LOT LESS CHANGES, BUT THERE ARE SOME OF THE, UH, ROADS IDENTIFIED IN THAT, UM, ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN. SO YOU THINK EAST COLLINS FROM ALMOND TO JUPITER, WHERE WE'VE GOT BIKE LANES ALREADY, UH, OWENS BOULEVARD, UH, SOUTH OF RENNER WHERE WE GOT BIKE LANES, CLEAR SPRINGS WHERE THERE'S BIKE LANES TODAY. AND THEN, UM, DUBLIN AND WATERFALL WAY, UH, THAT SECTION KIND OF FURTHER SOUTH, A LITTLE BIT NORTH OF, UM, SPRING VALLEY IS IDENTIFIED FOR MORE NEIGHBORHOOD BYWAY. AGAIN, WE DON'T HAVE IT TODAY. UH, PART OF DUBLIN DOES, BUT FOR THE MOST PART WE DON'T HAVE FACILITIES DOWN THERE RIGHT NOW. UM, BUT THOSE ARE ALL IDENTIFIED FROM PARKS AND RECREATION. UM, YOU KNOW, A LOT OF 'EM ARE MORE REBUILDING PLAYGROUNDS AND THOSE KIND OF THINGS. UM, SO BUILDING SOME TRAILS FROM SOME OF THE SOFT SURFACE TRAIL, UH, AND THEN BUILDING A BRIDGE OVER THE CREEK TO CONNECT TO KIND OF THAT EASTERN SECTION OF RECEN RIDGE PARK ON THE SOUTHERN END OF THE PARK. UM, AND SO THAT'S, UH, ANOTHER PROJECT WITHIN IT AS FAR AS SIDEWALKS. UM, SINCE 2006, THE CITY'S HAD SOME KIND OF SIDEWALK FUNDING FOR THE SIDEWALK REHABILITATION PROGRAM, UM, WHICH IS LOOKING AT MAINTENANCE OF SIDEWALKS, CURB, RAMPS TOWARDS A DA COMPLIANCE. UM, A LOT OF THAT IS VERY RESIDENTIAL FOCUS. UM, BUT THE, UH, THE LAST BOND PROGRAM INCLUDED SOME ELEMENTS FOR A COMMERCIAL AREA, WHICH IS KIND OF THE IQ AREA. AND THEN THIS YEAR THEY CREATED TWO ZONES. SO YOU HAVE TWO COMMERCIAL SIDEWALK AREAS HERE AND THEN OVER HERE AROUND THE HOSPITAL, UH, WHERE AGAIN, BE LOOKING AT, UH, REPAIRING, UM, ANY SIDEWALK ISSUES AS WELL AS CURB RAMPS, UH, THAT MAY NOT BE COMPLIANT. AND THEN RESIDENTIAL SIDEWALK AREAS COULD BE OTHER ONE, UH, WHERE YOU TALK ABOUT KIND OF THE WESTERN SECTION FROM CAMPBELL TO ARAPAHOE LOOKING IN THERE. AND THEN KIND OF THE SOUTHEAST, UM, SECTION. AND THIS IS ONE, THE PROGRAM'S BEEN AROUND A LONG ENOUGH. THIS IS MORE LIKE A SECOND CYCLE THROUGH THE SIDE, UH, SIDEWALK PROGRAMS. UM, AND SO A LOT OF THESE AREAS HAVE BEEN HIT ONCE BEFORE ON TRYING TO UPGRADE CURB RAMP AND, UM, SIDEWALKS. SO THIS IS KIND OF A SECOND RUN WHERE THEY LOOK AT, UM, ADDITIONAL ISSUES. UM, AND A LOT OF THE PROGRAM, IT MAY NOT GET IT TO, THEY MAY NOT, THEY ADDRESS KIND OF THE MORE, THE MOST MAJOR PROBLEMS. UM, AND SO IT MAY NOT GET EVERYTHING TO ANY COMPLIANCE, BUT THEY'RE GETTING, UH, THEY CAN KIND OF GO FURTHER THERE, BE MORE ROUNDS IN IT. UM, ONE NEW ELEMENT IS, UH, ADDRESSING SIDEWALK GAPS. UM, AND I THINK I HAVE A TYPO BECAUSE I THINK IT'S 6.0 MILLION. UM, BUT THIS IS A NEW ONE THAT TIES BACK TO WHAT MICHAEL WAS TALKING ABOUT, UH, WHERE IT WILL BE USING THAT SIDEWALK GAP ANALYSIS TO HELP INFORM, UH, THE USE OF, UM, TO ADDRESS THOSE SIDEWALK GAPS AND HOW DO WE START FILLING THOSE IN, IN THE NETWORK. WE PARTNERED WITH THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS WHO, WHO LED THE, THE STUDY IN IT. UM, AND NOW, NOW THAT THAT'S COMPLETED, WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO, TO WORK ON IMPLEMENTATION, UH, WHERE WE'VE LOOKED AT, YOU KNOW, SOME TRAFFIC VOLUMES, UM, SOME SIGNS AND MARKINGS IF YOU'VE BEEN OUT THERE, UH, YOU KNOW, WE'VE, UH, ADDED A FEW MARKINGS OUT THERE, REFRESH SOME MARKINGS ON CROSSWALKS, UM, AND THEN LOOKING, UH, WITHIN THIS FISCAL YEAR TO, TO UPGRADE SOME OF THOSE SIGNS. UM, AND IT GETS VERY TECHNICAL, BUT WE HAVE YELLOW SIGNS, AND THEN YOU HAVE KIND OF A FLUORESCENT YELLOW GREEN SIGN, WHICH IS KIND OF BRIGHTER, UM, MORE VISIBLE. SO WE'RE STARTING TO UPGRADE SOME OF THOSE SIGNS. AND SO WITHIN AROUND DOVER WE WILL, WE'LL BE WORKING ON THAT. UM, AND THEN, YEAH, WE'RE WORKING WITH THE, UM, POLICE DEPARTMENT AND SCHOOL DISTRICT ABOUT, UH, A CROSSING GUARD AT, UH, WATERVIEW RIDGEWAY, UH, WHICH IS ONE THAT GOT ON THE, THE SCHOOL'S ON THE WEST SIDE OF WATERVIEW. UM, THERE IS, UM, SOME APARTMENTS THAT RECENTLY, AS PART OF THE PROJECT RIGHT SIZE, THE RSP HAD, UM, A COUPLE YEARS AGO, UH, SHIFTED SOME OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEXES ON SPRING VALLEY, UM, MOUNTAIN ZONE TO DOVER. THEY USED TO GET BUSED UP TO GREENWOOD HILLS. UM, NOW THEY GET, UM, NOW THEY'RE BACK KIND OF REZONED TO DOVER. UM, AND SO WE'VE SEEN A MORE PEDESTRIAN ACTIVITY, UM, CROSSING, UH, WATERVIEW, UH, BECAUSE OF THAT. UM, AND SO WORKING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ON THAT, BUT MORE IN KIND OF THE IMPLEMENTATION SIDE OF THE STILL ELEMENTARY, UM, SAY ACROSS THE SCHOOL PLAN. WE DO HAVE ONE PLAN ONGOING. UH, THIS IS ANOTHER, UH, THIS IS MARK TWAIN ELEMENTARY. UM, UH, THIS IS OFF GLENVILLE AND, UM, LARK SPUR. UM, THIS IS AGAIN, LED BY THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS THAT GOT A GRANT, UM, FOR THAT. SO WE'RE WORKING THE, A CONSULTANT ON IT. UH, WE DID SOME TRAFFIC OBSERVATIONS, UM, BACK IN THE FALL OF NOVEMBER, 2025. UM, AND THEN, YEAH, WE'RE WORKING, THE CONSULTANT'S WORKING ON SOME OF THE DOCUMENTATION ON THAT, UH, WHERE WE'LL BE LOOKING [00:45:01] SOMETIME SUMMER 2026 TO, TO HAVE THAT POINT COMPLETE. UM, AND THEN DEPENDING ON THAT TIMELINE, WE'LL LOOK AT, UH, WHAT KIND OF IMPLEMENTATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS COME OUT OF THAT PLAN. THE BIG ONE WE'VE TALKED ABOUT BEFORE IS WE DO HAVE A LARGER SAFE PROCESS SCHOOL PROGRAM FUNDED. UH, THIS WAS, UH, THROUGH THE, UH, COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS. THERE WAS A TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM, UM, LARGER FUNDING, SO $500,000, UM, WHERE WE'RE LOOKING AT, UM, KIND OF GOING TO THAT SCOPE, CREATING MORE LIKE WHAT IS THAT VISION? KIND OF A FIVE YEAR WORK PLAN TO REALLY, UM, TACKLE MORE SAFE ROUTES OF SCHOOL, UM, PLANNING WITHIN RICHARDSON. AND THEN WORKING WITH THE SCHOOL, UH, BOTH SCHOOL DISTRICTS, BOTH RICHARDSON, ISD AS WELL AS PLANO ISD, UM, TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT'S KIND OF SUSTAINABLE IN THAT, OF HOW ARE WE EVALUATING OUR SCHOOLS, UM, AS WELL AS DEVELOPING A TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION CURRICULUM. UH, SO KIND OF FOR ALL GRADES, HOW ARE WE GETTING MORE OF THAT TRAFFIC SAFETY? UM, A LOT OF THAT'S BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY. UM, BUT SOME OF, YOU KNOW, DRIVER SAFETY TOO, OF, AS YOU GET TO HIGH SCHOOLERS OF RICHARD S VERY, UM, UM, ACTIVE IN KIND OF WALKING AND BIKING. AND SO ARE THOSE HIGH SCHOOL DRIVERS ACTUALLY AWARE OF HOW MUCH ACTIVITY WE HAVE AND ARE THEY LOOKING FOR THAT? UM, AND HOW CAN THEY BE SAFE DRIVERS THAT THEY, UM, DO START DRIVING ON OUR ROADS. UM, AND THEN WITHIN THAT WE WOULD ALSO HAVE SEVEN SCHOOL SPECIFIC STATE PROCESS SCHOOL PLANS. YOU KNOW, WE'VE GOT TWO ONGOING, OR WE HAVE ONE COMPLETED, ONE ONGOING. UM, THIS WOULD ADD SEVEN MORE TO THAT, UM, THROUGH THIS FUNDING, UM, THAT WE WOULD LOOK MAINLY AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, BUT ALSO BEING ABLE TO GET A JUNIOR HIGH AND A HIGH SCHOOL, UH, WITHIN THOSE PLANS AS WELL. AND IT'D BE INTERESTING TO SEE TO ENSURE THAT THAT PLANNING IS MADE FOR KIDS IN THE LAST LITTLE BIT GETTING WALKING OR RIDE THEIR BIKE. 'CAUSE I KNOW THAT, THAT MY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS A LOT OF CONCERNS ABOUT BUSES AND PARENTS DROPPING KIDS OFF ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS. SO ANYTHING ELSE? ANYBODY ELSE? UH, SO WE TALKED ABOUT A LITTLE BIT. SO THIS PAST YEAR WE DID THE FUNDING APPLICATION. ULTIMATELY NOVEMBER WE FOUND OUT THAT DID NOT AWARD FUNDING TO THE PROJECT. UM, UH, YOU KNOW, SO AGAIN, THEY HAD, I THINK IT WAS QUADRUPLE THE AMOUNT OF REQUESTS, UM, AS THEY DID FUNDING. SO WAS SOMEWHERE NEAR A BILLION DOLLARS IN REQUESTS FOR FUNDING AND ABOUT $250 MILLION IN AVAILABLE FUNDING TO GIVE OUT. UM, SO IT'S A GREAT SIGN FOR JUST THE STATE AS HOW MUCH INTEREST THERE IS IN ACT TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS. UM, UH, SINCE THAT TIME WE'VE BEEN COORDINATING WITH COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT, UM, LOOKING AT WHAT OTHER OPTIONS MAY BE AVAILABLE. UM, AND SO THAT'S JUST AN ONGOING PROCESS. UM, AS FAR AS OTHER PROJECTS, UH, YOU KNOW, KIND OF GIVEN THE LATEST UPDATES ON DIFFERENT ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS AROUND THE C UH, JOHNSON BOULEVARD IS ONE KINDA NEAR UTD OF, UH, WE'VE GOT TATUM AND THEN JOHNSON, UH, KIND OF COME IN KINDA THE BACKSIDE TO THE GROCERY STORE AND SOME OF THE RESTAURANTS OVER THERE. UM, THAT ONE IS ONGOING RIGHT NOW. THEY'RE DOING SOME PING WORK OUT THERE. UM, IT STARTED BACK IN JULY, 2025. WE'RE LOOKING, UM, SOMETIME THIS SPRING THEY'LL BE FINISHING UP. SO KIND OF CONNECT THAT IN, UH, TO HAVE A CONTINUOUS FACILITY FROM UTD AND SOME OF THE STUDENT HOUSING, UM, ACROSS WATERVIEW AND THEN DOWN, UH, TO THE GROCERY STORE AND RESTAURANTS DOWN THERE. UH, AT MIMOSA COTTON BELT TRAIL, YOU'LL SEE A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION. I'LL SHOW YOU A FEW PICTURES AND A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION ON THAT HERE IN A MINUTE. UH, PLANO HAS A SEPARATE PROJECT THAT'LL BRING TRAIL DOWN SHILOH, AND THEN KIND OF ACROSS, UM, GENERALLY ALONG THE BORDER OF RICHARDSON AND PLANO. UM, AND ULTIMATELY TIE INTO THIS TRAIL, UH, YOU GOT A AUTO MIDDLE SCHOOL HERE, UH, IT'LL CONNECT INTO THAT EXISTING TRAIL, WHICH DOES TIE INTO BRECKENRIDGE, UM, WHICH IS GREAT, JUST BEING ABLE TO, ULTIMATELY YOU CAN STAY ON TRAIL FROM UGD ALL THE WAY THROUGH KIND OF DOWNTOWN PLANO AND THEN INTO BRECKENRIDGE, UH, TO REALLY CONNECT THE, UH, THE COMMUNITY ON A, A VERY LONG TRAIL. YOU CAN GO FOR A VERY LONG TIME, UM, AND EVEN WEST YOU CAN, IT'LL ACTUALLY BE BUILT ALL THE WAY TO KIND OF, WEST ADDISON IS WHAT'S FUNDED RIGHT NOW. AND FOR A TRAIL, JUST BY THE WAY, UH, I KNOW IT'S A PLAINO PROJECT, BUT THAT RIGHT WHERE THE NUMBER TWO IS, UH, THAT TRAIL IS NOW OPEN. I, IT'S OFFICIALLY OPEN, BUT, UH, SOMEONE HAS REMOVED THE BARRICADE , SO IT'S OFFICIAL. SO FROM BASICALLY FROM CITY OF LINE TO THE 12TH STREET STATION, WHICH MAKES, UH, RICHARDSON ACCESS TO DOWNTOWN PLANO, UH, KER PEDESTRIAN A LOT, A LOT EASIER. SO, UM, ANOTHER ONE WE'VE GOT IS GLENVILLE. GLENVILLE GETS CLOSER AND CLOSER. I'LL SHOW YOU A FEW PICTURES OF SOME OF THE THINGS THAT ARE COMING, UM, ON THERE. UH, THIS IS ALSO UNDER DESIGN, UH, WHERE YEAH, IT'LL ADD A TRAIL FACILITY UNDER 75 ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE CUSTER BIKE LANES, UM, TO COMPLETE THAT CONNECTION AS WELL. UM, AND THEN ULTIMATELY CREATE THAT CONNECTION TO THE NEW MUNICIPAL COMPLEX WITH CITY HALL, THE LIBRARY, UM, AS THOSE START TO REOPEN AS WELL. AND THEN CENTRAL TRAIL, UM, BEING THE OTHER ONE HERE, THE SOUTHERN SIDE, UH, THIS IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH, UH, DALLAS COUNTY ON THAT ONE. AND THAT ONE IS THEY'VE WRAPPED UP DESIGN. UH, WE'RE STARTING TO MOVE INTO CONSTRUCTION, SO PROBABLY SOMETIME IN THE SPRING THIS YEAR YOU'LL START, UH, SEEING CONSTRUCTION DOWN THERE. SO A FEW PICTURES.
